Irfan L. Sarhindi is a DPhil student at the Department of Education, University of Oxford, affiliated with Lady Margaret Hall. His area of research is on “Islam: education, identity, and sustainability” and “learning and teaching in a digitalized world” and “interfaith and multicultural studies”. For his doctoral study, he studies the influence of the transforming learning experience on the blurring identities of Indonesian Muslim students. He is also appointed Director of the Centre for Interfaith and Multicultural Studies, Satya Terra Bhinneka University. For the last 13 years, Irfan dedicated himself to work on the issues of interreligious dialogue, religious inclusivism, and Islamic moderation, through various channels: curriculum development for Islamic short-course programs, podcast production, article/book writing, and education trainer/consultant. He has been acknowledged as a finalist of the British Council’s Future Leaders Connect (2017), an inspiring youth for “Panggung Indonesia 2045” TEMPO Institute (2018), and a winner of the UK Alumni Awards for Social Action (2021).
